The non-profit California Medical Association, the physician’s statewide professional association, seeks an individual looking for a challenging contract position as an Electronic Publications Developer (EPD), located in the San Francisco office.

Job Description:

Projects involve publishing medical-legal material in electronic book, website, and print formats. The flagship publication is a seven volume, 4,500-page legal reference handbook published annually with Adobe FrameMaker. The EPD must have solid general electronic publishing skills and be open to further training. The EPD should have strong organizational and process management skills and an ability to continuously increase efficiency throughout the process.

Candidate Profile:

• Able to learn quickly
• Work well with minimal supervision
• Work well under the pressure of tight deadlines
• Work well as a team member

Knowledge/Experience:

• Strong word processing skills—MS Word, current FrameMaker
• Familiarity with MS Access databases and MS-SQL language
• Familiarity with Structured Authoring (Word Styles, CSS/XML/XSL)
• Programming experience
• Process Management
• Experience with Visual Basic for Applications and ASP or ASP.net Web programming is an advantage
