We are looking for a cutting edge web developer (contract hourly, telecommuting ok) to assist us with some projects.

Required skills:
We are searching for an HTML / JavaScript pro who has experience:
1. creating cool, flashy, and sexy web pages that work across multiple browsers and platforms (IE, FF, Safari on XP, Vista, Mac OSX)
2. using JS toolkits such as jQuery, script.aculo.us, Prototype, Dojo, etc.
3. writing server-side code as well in PHP.
4. using social network APIs such as OpenSocial, twitter, Facebook, etc.
5. accurately estimating and budgeting time for a given project.

Bonus points are given to those with experience in:
1. Flash
2. Linux
3. SVN
4. Gimp and/or Photoshop

Please read this next part carefully:

To get a feeling of what we are looking for, please install this browser add-on on your IE or FF browser - http://facebooklivenotifier.ourtoolbar.com. Basically, its a Facebook Notifier -- it lets you know when you have new pokes, friend requests, messages, etc. It also lets you update your status, or share a page on facebook.

As a first project, we’d ask you to write a functionally similar app that operates against a different social network.
We value artistic license, so there are very few restrictions on how we’d like to see you accomplish this project:

- There is a client-side API which assists in programmatically controlling the toolbar available here: http://www.conduit.com/Developers/overview.aspx
Please let us know in your response if you have any experience with the Conduit.com API, or similar APIs.

- These apps must functionally operate like the Facebook Live Notifier example, providing the same utility.
Have you ever written anything similar?

- These apps must be wrapped within an “accordion” control, as toolbar real estate is valuable, we want the user to be able to shrink them on demand.
Do you have experience with accordion controls?

- They must work on IE 6-8, FF 2-3.5 on W2K, Vista, XP, and W2K
- They must work on FF 2-3.5 and Safari 2-4 on Mac OS 10.4-10.5
Have you ever worked on a project with such browser/platform requirements?

- You can use whatever technologies will get the job done
- You can use client-side, server-side, or a combination of the both
- You can use whatever combinations of APIs will get the job done. For example: Sonico is exposed via OpenSocial and via a native Sonico API. You are welcome to use one, the other, or both.
How would you do it?

Please visit http://www.conduit.com/, click the “Get Started Now” link at the top, and spend a few minutes getting familiar with the platform. Those who have created a demo toolbar and are familiar with the conduit.com technology will be considered ahead of those who haven’t.

Please submit your resume, along with the answers to the above questions, and examples/URLs/screenshots of all work you’ve done in the past that you think would make you the best candidate for this opportunity. As our resources are limited, we kindly ask you to contact us only after reviewing the information in this job posting, otherwise we won’t be able to consider your application (please accept our apologies for that in advance).
