Caucho Technology, founded in 1998, is a growing software engineering company focused on open source Java and PHP solutions. Our products and services are used globally by corporations and the public sector.

Caucho is seeking to hire a full-time Software Trainer, Support Engineer, and Document Specialist to join our engineering team in the San Francisco Bay Area. The candidate should have a background in information technology architecture and design principles with experience in Java EE programming and administration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: execution, coordination, and administration of Caucho training programs, ongoing product education to support Caucho customers, and product enhancement training as well as writing technical documentation, application notes, user manuals, installation guides, and release notes. While not training or preparing documents, the candidate will answer high-level support questions and assist customers in deployment tuning and optimization. Candidate must have proven advanced training skills working with technical applications and the ability to interact with clients and senior staff members from various organizations in the industry and government communities. Intermediate to expert skills in Java EE programming and administration are required. Experience with Resin application server is preferred.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience with Java EE programming and administration
  • Experience with relational databases, and SQL
  • Demonstrated skill, knowledge and experience in the field of technical training
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to maintain and update own knowledge of product and content
  • Proven organizational and technical skills
  • Dynamic presentation skills
  • Provide QA check against documents to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Travel to customer locations (travel estimate: 10-25% of job will involve travel)
  • Thorough knowledge of technical writing principles and practices and demonstrated experience preparing technical documentation
