Assistant to Best-selling Author/Speaker (Metrowest)

Part-time 5-10 hour/week position as an independent contractor assisting a speaker/author/consultant.
Experience in the speaking, marketing or public relations industries a plus.

My books are in the personal growth/spiritual genre. I have a new book coming out later this year and need someone to help me mount a best-seller campaign.

Required skills: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); organizational ability to develop and maintain systems that streamline business operations, up-to-date computer skills (Mac); ability to promote my business through social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) websites and blogs; research speaking opportunities; make calls requesting contact information; actively promote my business, and other administrative duties as required.
Sample Job Duties:
* Coordinate logistics for author's media and speaking engagements
* Database management (Mac) using latest technology to input contacts and upgrade author's presence on social network sites (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn)
* Assist with newsletter and ezine production (ability to desktop publish and edit hard copy and online newsletters a plus)
* Assist with website and blog maintenance, keep calendars, testimonials, articles, and links current
* Assist in producing video clips and podcasts.
* Promote speaker and her books through Internet marketing and other PR.
