Position Summary
We are looking for someone to lead engineering efforts for a hyper-growth internet startup. Our team is creating a unique alternative in the fun greeting/social expression market. You will work intimately with a proven business team, lead all product development activities, and report to the CEO. Energy, integrity, and resourcefulness are just as important to us as leadership experience and technical know-how.

“Soft” Requirements
• Demonstrated operational leadership and project management skills in a resource-constrained startup environment where you “bring your own laptop” and build something from nothing.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other functional leaders on direction, strategy, and aggressively researching customer behavior.
• Experience recruiting, training, and leading a team of engineers.

“Hard” Requirements
• Expertise in audio processing, storage, and dissemination. Experience with Asterisk telephony products a plus.
• Experience building and maintaining operations with heavy traffic.
• Experience establishing web development processes (Requirement Gathering, Specifications, Development, QA, Release Engineering, Source Control, Disaster Recovery).
• Experience using extreme programming/agile methodologies to build a scalable website for rapid deployment. Experience with LAMP stacks a plus.
• Experience building a scalable web-based architecture. Cloud computing experience a plus.
• Familiarity with network protocols, load balancers, database administration.
• Familiarity with vendor integration (third-party API's, for example).
• Experience complying with applicable laws, especially in regards to privacy and security.
• At least 10 years engineering experience.
• BS in engineering or hard sciences required; MA/PhD preferred.
