PROGRAMMER for (intriguing) Start-Up (Manhattan)

OVERVIEW: We’re a new (pre-) start-up (NY based) looking for experienced PROGRAMMER to work “on spec” (meaning: THE FIRST 1-3 MONTHS WILL BE UNPAID, PENDING ADDITIONAL ANGEL FUNDING) for an incredibly promising and exciting Web 2.0/social networking/data-analytic-processing project. Founded by an extremely well-networked individual with connections to the highest and broadest reaches of the technology world, and backed by a CTO with extensive experience overseeing very ambitious cutting-edge initiatives, this is “the real deal.” This person will have a lot to do in the coming weeks and month right off the bat. We are looking for someone who is excited by the prospect of changing how people use information and relationships online and dramatically raising how productive people are as a result. We want people who are enthusiastic about a start-up atmosphere and able to patiently work through the initial start-up phase of development. This requires a bold, creative mind with the ability to ride out the pre-funding period either full-time or part-time. Does this all sound up your alley?

WHAT WE NEED:

Experienced programmer familiar with several languages
Experience with multiple databases
***Experience with custom high volume data analytics, ETL or data loading techniques is a plus ***
Knowledge of PHP is a must (this will be our target language)
Knowledge of Content applications such as Dropple and Joomla is a must
***Experience with Facebook API's is a plus***
Experience with iPhone application development is a plus
Experience with data mining, ETL processing etc outside of database is a major plus
Experience with rapid or Agile development is an important skill
Some knowledge of HTML is important although we will bring in graphics specialists for the finished products
