The Program Specialist manages and supports the day-to-day operations of after-school and/or weekend programs in selected school districts to insure overall program quality operationally and academically. The Program Specialist works closely with the Platform Learning staff to create the most effective and efficient learning environment for instructors/teachers, students, parents, and school administrators. The Program Specialist is a PART-TIME and SEASONAL position. The Program Specialist typically manages 2-3 programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Ensuring high quality services are delivered to students and parents
- Registering and enrolling students for programs
- Recruiting instructors for programs
- Managing 2-4 Program Aides who will assist the Program Specialist in setting up and operating tutorial programs
- Building relationships and consistently following-up with instructors/teachers, students, parents, and school administrators
- Coordinating all aspects of day-to-day program implementation including, but not limited to: security, snack distribution, scheduling, submitting and processing student information (attendance, assessment, etc.), submission of payroll forms and program wrap-up.
- Responding to and resolving concerns of students, parents, instructors and school administrators
- Ensuring that programs have necessary site permits and agreements
- Willing to work long hours and weekends on a flexible schedule as needed to meet deadlines
- Other duties as deemed necessary by the Area Manager and/or Regional Director

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience in a higher level analyst or mid-management role, sales or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in K-12 education and/or have relevant work experience in the field; Knowledge of SES (preferred)

COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient with Microsoft OfficeXP (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet Explorer

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENT
Candidate must have and maintain a reliable working cell phone, a reliable home computer with Windows XP and Internet Explorer, high speed Internet connection (to access Company's web-based site management system, and a reliable land telephone line.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Program Specialists will work in schools serving low-income students in urban communities. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Candidate will travel significantly throughout region. Weekend, evening and overtime hours are required for the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
